Celebrity weddings often generate headlines for their guest lists, television connections, or the buzz surrounding the couple. But Alyssa Sheridan and Tyler Norris’ intimate Botanica Oceanside wedding weekend left a different impression. Beneath the towering tropical greenery, beside spring-fed pools and cascading waterfalls, their wedding felt grounded, enchanting, and deeply personal from beginning to end.
While many people first learned about Alyssa and Tyler through The Voice, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise, the heart of their wedding story centered less on television and more on creating an intentional experience with the people they love most. A recent People Magazine exclusive feature highlighted the couple’s love story that led to this moment (it’s a sweet one—take a look!). From our perspective as their photo and film team, the magic lived in the atmosphere they created and the way every design decision supported connection.

Alyssa and Tyler initially considered an elopement or micro-wedding before realizing they wanted to share the weekend with close friends and family traveling from across the country. Choosing a venue that could still feel intimate with a larger guest count became one of the most important parts of the planning process.
Few Southern California venues accomplish that balance as naturally as Botanica Oceanside.
The property feels tucked away from the outside world, layered with dense tropical foliage, winding garden paths, reflective water features, and natural stone textures that soften every corner of the space. Guests moved through the venue as though they were discovering a hidden oasis together. Mature trees shaded the ceremony site while waterfalls added gentle ambient sound throughout the evening. Later, as the sun went down, reception tables came alive under warm candlelight.
For couples planning destination-style weddings in Southern California, venues with immersive natural environments often create a more relaxed and meaningful guest experience. Alyssa and Tyler fully leaned into that philosophy. Instead of packing the weekend with nonstop structure, they intentionally left room for guests to explore Oceanside, spend time together, and enjoy the slower pace that makes coastal California feel so restorative.
That decision shaped the tone of the entire celebration.

One of the strongest design choices throughout the wedding came from restraint.
Instead of overwhelming the venue with color or overly formal styling, Alyssa and Tyler embraced an organic all-white palette that elevated the tropical surroundings already built into the space. The result felt refined without losing warmth.
Garden-style floral arrangements by Destined to Be Florals softened the ceremony and reception spaces with loose movement and natural texture (her specialty!). Clusters of blooms added dimension while still allowing the venue’s greenery and architecture to remain central to the experience.
For design-conscious and experience-driven couples planning outdoor weddings, this approach offers an important reminder: thoughtful design does not always require excess. Some of the most visually impactful weddings happen when florals, rentals, fashion, and lighting work with the environment rather than compete with it.
At Botanica Oceanside, the white florals almost glowed against the surrounding tropical greens. Every detail felt cohesive because the design reflected the setting rather than trying to transform it.

Luxury weddings increasingly focus on hospitality over performance, and Alyssa and Tyler embodied that shift beautifully.
Many of their guests traveled from the East Coast, so the weekend centered around creating a memorable Southern California experience rather than simply hosting a single-day event. Guests enjoyed refreshing downtime, opportunities to reconnect, and a celebratory pace that encouraged them to stay present without the rush.
That intentionality showed up in countless small ways throughout the day — from the welcoming atmosphere to the relaxed flow of events and thoughtful late-night food options. Even the vendor selections reflected their priorities.
Planning by Mikalea Veneracion helped the entire day feel seamless and comfortable for guests while still maintaining an elevated aesthetic. Meanwhile, entertainment by DJ HVK kept the energy high without overpowering the evening’s intimacy, and Prince St. Pizza delivered a fun late-night surprise that guests genuinely loved.
Even the cake carried personal meaning. Desserts with Grace — owned by one of Tyler’s high school friends — created a beautiful three-tiered strawberries and cream cake, and a local bakery, It’s All About Cake, served mini desserts to fuel the dance floor celebration.

Some weddings feel visually stunning from the start. Others become unforgettable because of the emotional atmosphere surrounding them.
Alyssa and Tyler somehow managed both.
Their personal vows had us reaching for tissues, not because the moment felt performative, but because their care for one another came across so naturally. Kindness radiated through every interaction all weekend long — with each other, with family members, and with everyone who helped bring the day together.
As photographers and filmmakers, those moments always matter most.

Beautiful venues, thoughtful design, and editorial details create a strong visual foundation, but authentic connection gives wedding imagery lasting emotional weight. Alyssa and Tyler’s joy felt contagious from beginning to end, and their celebration reflected the growing shift toward weddings that value intimacy, hospitality, and genuine presence above all else.
The spotlight may have found them through television, but the atmosphere surrounding their intimate Botanica Oceanside wedding revealed something much more compelling: two grounded people creating a deeply meaningful experience for everyone fortunate enough to celebrate alongside them.
