The Mexican food + Cali ocean air from our visits back to my hometown was enough to convince him to leave good ol’ Tex and become the surfer dude of my dreams. And shortly after, we married and became the photography + videography dream team.
We LOVE getting to learn peoples' stories and retelling them through our cameras. It reminds of how lucky we are to have each other forever (awhhh).
Once you’re in Sam’s inner-circle, she’s got your back no matter what. On wedding days I don’t think she takes a deep breath until we’re in the car heading home. Being type-A she is somehow able to map out an entire wedding day, keep all the drunk ducks in a row, AND predict moments while she’s shooting.
Austin is the calming presence I 100% can’t be. I swear he sees everything in slow motion and understands the best shots come from the stillness amongst the chaos of a wedding day. He has a way of evoking emotions with the way her pairs movements with music in a couple’s video.

Yeah, cause we support each other’s passion … but we’re also engaged in a lil’ healthy competition. On wedding days we’re totally in sync getting the shots you envisioned and the ones we prepped for. Side by side, nothing slips by us. We’re both flexing our individual creative muscles and getting hyped to show off the shots we got to you… AND to each other. We’re seeing who can get the best lighting, angles, emotions, and movement.
We’re raising a Kirkland prince and princess. And even though we’re leaving them in the safe hands of Mickey Mouse and our parents to work with y'all… we’re still parents. Saying cheesy shit, getting choked up, managing chaos, taking care of anyone within reach, and seeing things from the perspective of what you’ll want to share with your own kids one day… It’s in our bones y’all.
